What we do

Jungle Culture serves as a platform to connect people with plants.

An urban environment does not always allow us as humans to have access to plants, potting soil and pots. Out of this need, Jungle Culture was born and our main goal is to ensure that fashionable indoor plants and decor are just a click away.

Our plants are distributed "home ready" within hip and trendy pots or containers to suit the needs of a modern city dweller or plant lover.

Tiaan Snyman

Co-founder

Tiaan is a lover of the outdoors and a soil scientist by day for an agricultural company. He completed his studies in Geology at Stellenbosch University, but soon realised making things grow is what makes him tick.

He is the co-founder and one of the green thumbs at Jungle Culture.

Jan de Klerk

Co-founder

Jan was born and raised up north in the Limpopo province. He however decided to travel south and graduated at Stellenbosch University with a Bachelors degree in Industrial engineering. He is currently living out his passion as a professional rugby player at Western Province rugby union while he pursues his interests in farming, finance and technology on the side.

He is also co-founder of Jungle Culture.

Willie Schmidt

Plant specialist

Growing up on a farm in the Free State is where Willie’s love for animals, plants and gardening unfolded. Before becoming the owner of Aspidistra Nursery in 2001, Willie practised as a clinical psychologist for years. His love for the outdoors however convinced him to fully concentrate on his nursery as well as being Pasella’s in-house gardening guru for the past 8 years. Willie is also popular for doing great work for Top Billing, Expresso Show and “Tuine en Tossels”.

Besides the gardening, he also breeds show chickens with his two sons. Willie describes himself as passionate, optimistic and having a “loving life” attitude.
